Exactly. I'm not exactly someone you could call an audiophile, but I notice certain things about the music I listen. Lack of dynamic range and digital clipping are my main gripes.

I would scream "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" if it meant that the engineers started mastering with some dynamic range again. But I suppose that's not coming back, in the mainstream at least.

Judging by the newscast, it's 4.44 EST, and that was probably local news. So everyone around the world knows when it's happening in their local time.

I learned English from watching Sesame Street as a kid and subtitled movies on my PC later. Formal learning in school helped, but I could communicate pretty well anyway.

I'm relieved. I thought the article was posted because this was somehow arcane knowledge, but this is basic high school curriculum in Poland. I appreciate posts on quantum physics etc., because I never really learned much about that.
