Except that over time, because Congress has rolled over again and again, the Presidency has become the paramount power in this country.  The Constitution is just a piece of paper.  it doesn’t actually mean much of anything anymore.

Which means exactly nothing.  Power is what you can get away with.  Republicans realized this long ago.  The Democrats still have no clue whatsoever.

He’s only delaying the ineveitable if the Democrats find some effective way of turning up the heat on him.  Barring that, Trump is going to win this handily.

People don’t become Chief Justice of the Supreme Court without caring at least a little bit about being recognized and remembered. knowing exactly what the people who put you there expect you to do for them.

Why does he give a shit what people will think at sometime in the distant future? He’ll be dead.
