No, the right are winning because they spent years playing hard to their base. The Democrats can’t do that because they don’t have a base to play to. “You have to vote for us or the bad guys win and after we win we MIGHT think about doing something for you-maybe, no promises” is the only real argument they’ve got.

This was all pretty well known? So the public at large, in July of 2016, was already expecting Trump to win?  Funny that everybody seemed so surprised in November when he did.

I lived in Houston in the early 2000's and while I agree about the changes taking place there, her attempts in that area were woefully premature. Texas slowly turning purple may matter in 2028. I agree whole- heartedly with you on the rest of your comment though.

And that she was a candidate that voters didn't like and then proceeded to run a campaign that implied to those voters that would already need to be holding their noses firmly closed to vote for her that she so had it in the bag they wouldn't even have to bother. 

Also too bad that this has been the case for 242 years, yet the Democrats still haven’t figured it out yet.
