I loved that it was shot so that at first you just heard the theremin over Cordelia's potion making. I thought, "Really? Why do we need a theremin in the score right now?" when the camera cut to Myrtle playing it. Which made me snort up my coffee. That's the kind of smarts I watch AHS for.

That was my laugh out loud line from this episode, especially Finn's disgusted line reading of "games where you collect the elements to make stationary".

Prediction: by the end of the season, Dean will be arching Hank

Random thoughts:

To be fair, Dave said that he introduced her to a new sleeping pill (seconal?) and then she OD'ed . She died in '69, so he would have been in his twenties in the years leading up to that.  Much higher probability, but still, she didn't seem to lack for people being pharmacologically helpful.

Also, Oliver: "delusional fun vacuum" is genius.

Interesting cut to Roxxxy's face while Detox talked about being abandoned by her mother, who came back and rescued her.  That couldn't have been easy to hear.

Non-hairy guys who like bears are called chasers usually.  But they seem to be in the minority: most bears are into other furry guys.

I was one of those bears! I knew it was going to happen, but watching Izzy get shorn  gave me a little pang.

That was simply so that they wouldn't have to listen to another giant blow up from Coco. She was clearly threatening to go off and I think the rest of them were done with hearing it at that point.

Delta Burke + Stuart Smalley = Daniel
It's always tough when a relentlessly self affirming person  freaks out. At least he got to "do my shoulders that I like to do" : those horrible shoulders that make any dress into an instant "favorite aunt of the groom" garment. I love how he conquered his demons and came to New

I think it's more like Coco realizing that she was on the top for playing Ru's cousin during the roast, so why not try again. The difference was that last week it was well executed ass-kissing as opposed to this week's fumble.

Dear Creators of Archer: please stop making fun of my love life and film career.

I can shenanigans on the editing of the IIL reaction to Serena last night - There was a lot of cross-cutting and overdubbing that made it sound like the queens were laughing and screeching for hours on end.  I know that they cut for drama, but everything seemed held for just a beat too long.  My guess is  that it was

I don't think that any student who was sharp enough to remember Judith Butler would then turn around and tell Ru about that "new thing in the art world, soft sculpture". I think that Serena has had very little contact with art history, much less gender theory.

I bet Lady Mortician is happy to be able to use phrases like "culling the herd" with her new fashion pals. That sort of talk is frowned upon in the Bereavement Industry.

My guess for next two episodes:

What makes this show brilliant? Attention to detail: not only do they drop a giant emotion bomb on the contestants in the "no-longer alcohol themed backstage alcove", they make sure that the room has no tissues in it. One of the queens remarked on it and I spent most of Untucked watching them trying to stem the tide

Best moment of the episode: La Klum's brutal "Is it getting to you?" shot at a demoralized Elena as her Ukrainian carapace finally shattered during judging, providing the panel with the luscious designer tears that keep them looking so fresh and young. We had to replay that three times, just so we could experience the
