That’s more like it! But of course the 2-seater 300ZX is lighter - the Supra and Mitsu are 2+2. And the more directly comparable 2+2 300ZX is likely the heaviest of the bunch.

I think they shaped the car to make those all important American sales. It was no longer the poster boy lightened weapon, but it sold well, consistently outselling the Supra, RX7 and 3000GT. It also outlived them all - these “stumbles” are probably the reason Nissan still sells the Z today.

This isn’t necessarily a true or fair comparison. There are hundreds of kilos difference between a manual, NA, two seater slick top and the full fat auto, turbo, 2+2 targa.

The 300ZX actually continued to 2000 in Japan. You can import one to Australia if you jump through some hoops (including living in Japan and owning the car there for a year). Thus, owing also to low production numbers, they’re rare as hen’s teeth.

In those modes the game will counter-steer your slide for you, so you’re fighting oversteer while also fighting to keep the car sliding while the game tries to ruin it for you. Was
