As a current MR2 owner I find this to be a shame. It’s a really nice design, and the handling tweaks you get for it being mid-engined are a bag of laughs.

My girlfriend has a 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer with an underpowered 1.5L engine. It’s definitely noticeable with the AC on, acceleration becomes awful and hills are much worse.
