I love when cars sell enough that this sort of thing becomes possible. For example, if they sold a billion 86s we'd probably get that convertible concept built. And maybe even the Nissan idx as well. Alas, people bought Minis instead... And look where that got us.

Why can't Porsche do this? More options, like the manual. And simple stuff like boring out the old engine.

Hope you can get those TURBO VTEC stickers. Those things were amazing

...it has a turbo

I wonder what it looks like lowered to the height of a Vanquish.

The color coding is cool. So is the roof hoop. Two things that won't make it to production. Concepts suck

They started out as Hyundai's thing: a cheap and too eager attempt to add something unique to a design.

Does anyone else think the shorter headlights on the new R8 make it look a bit... Chubby?

Call me crazy, I don't really see the resemblance form the outside

Wonder no more: there's a mighty car mods episode on YouTube for this. One for turbo, one for NA. You'll have to Google it as I can't copy the link on my phone, but they pretty much bust them as a myth.

I KNOW RIGHT HOLY SHIT I found about this car on another jalopnik article a month or so ago. Was flabbergasted. None of these in Australia, plenty of sedans though.

Now do one on how coupe means two doors!

Butterfly doors, like a Mclaren F1. Not gullwings like the SLS.

I have a 94 300ZX, previously had an 84. No dramas except the roof leaking a bit. Both cars have a lot of modern features, electric everything, cruise control. They don't feel that old.

This article says it weighs 200 pounds more than it would with a gearbox, but that there's no weigh penalty for the hybrid system.

Love it. Love the targa top, love how it blends the familiar Koenigsegg design language with a new direction. Love how it blows away the competition, from old timer Ferrari to new comer Pagani. Makes Hennessey look a bit silly too.

From the first photo alone, I see what you mean.

Hang on. It was in the article. He specifically mentioned the diff and the torque steer. Did you read the article?

I think this is unreasonable

I wonder if they'll figure out how to make it weigh 2.5 tonnes despite being a smaller car #justbentleythings
