In my 10 years Army experience I learned that a unit basically needs twice as many as you require.

No, they were terrible new. The reason they “work” is that there is an entire military industrial complex behind them to fix and replace as needed.

Maneuverability was a big selling point but you need to be moving slowly. LEAST fun vehicle on the dunes for sure. I’d rather a Loyale wagon 4x4 in a manual with big tires.

If you don’t need the ability to strap on a couple thousand lbs in armor than a 4x4 diesel pickup in a short wheelbase will DOMINATE compared to these crapcans.

A 2.5 even handles better somehow. Ingress and egress are a bit of an issue though. Especially when gear laden.

Yes, it really is that hard. Everything breaks constantly and they are a nightmare to work on. Part ... Hahahaha, good luck with that.

The unit I spent the most time at in the Army had 9 of them.

Swedish military surplus vehicles are a dime a dozen, don’t suck, and are much more practical. You can also get them in gas models vs diesel.

Please, talk to someone in the Army first. They suck. The only way you can operate one is with the entire military industrial complex behind you to fix and replace them constantly. We had some that would break down without ever leaving the motorpool.

I’m skeptical of issues with title/registration for Arizona. Here in AZ you can make almost anything street legal so long as it is riding around on DOT tires and has lights.

OK, what the fuck? You screw up the FIRST item you list? A catalytic converter isn’t “a filter”. It’s a metal catalyst that converts certain gases into others via heat. Hence the fucking name.

The Stig just got the news

It means that “The Ultimate Driving Machine” concept is bullshit.

Anything designed by VW in the last 20 years.

Tray table down, arms folded to rest head on face down, ball cap to block light, pull tray table slightly towards you so that the hat bill is just over the far edge to keep your head from wobbling, sleep.

Considering the pain that a flight leaves me with I find medication to cure both the pain after and the comfort during. Unconsciousness means that comfort is no longer a factor.
