I’m still not sure what to think. Personally, I don’t see how it wouldn’t at least be reckless endangerment to expose someone to an incurable infection.

I think we can all agree that withholding your HIV status is wrong. But he’s just getting retried, he’s not going free. There was a lot of fuckery in this trial:
Edited because I’ve reread and read some other summaries: The judge hasn’t issued a decision that Madonna has to comply with this rule. He’s just asking tough question in a hearing, which is his job.
Semi-OT, but does anyone else get this very “uncanny valley” feeling whenever you look at Blac Chyna? There’s something about her features and her skin that make her look doll/mannequin-like. Everything is too smooth. I can’t tell if it’s her makeup, her cosmetic procedures, or photoshop, but I haven’t seen a picture…
No one gonna point out the white supremist saying “Ayo-it’s that time, fam”?
She also mentioned the fact that he was depressed and not taking care of himself. She definitely sounded ignorant and not particularly sensitive, but it didn’t read to me as “he needs to lose weight get fuckable again” so much as “his weight gain is a symptom of a larger sickness that he’s refusing to get help for”.…
Fuck, this comment section is Deadspin at its absolute worst. Fuck everyone here who thinks Mixon was in the right, or that his reaction was understandable.
I am against state-sanctioned murder always. I reject the notion that the state has the right to determine when and how you die. I reject the notion of death as punishment. EVERYONE dies. Harnessing that as a form of punishment is just...I don’t have words for it. But it’s infuriating and appalling, to say the least.
Not to overly praise a schools ability to investigate potential crimes, but I would like to believe that if they are recommending expelling five athletes and suspending four others, they would have a pretty solid reason to do so.
I hate when people say, “I don’t usually support the death penalty but...”
Fuck him, but fuck the death penalty too. People who seek cognitive closure for other people’s actions have a toe on the Just World Fallacy border. Not cool.
Jail is not pleasant, especially if you are in isolation. In fact, I’d say isolation is far, far more cruel than the death penalty. If it is retribution you seek, having him locked up alone 23 hours a day is far more effective to that end.
This attitude is why we still have the death penalty. “Well, I don’t generally like it, I agree with all your arguments about it, but what if someone really does deserve it?” A lot of people take this position, and it sounds reasonable, but it’s propping up the insitution in states like California at least.
I take the…
I still don’t want him to get the death penalty. I don’t think him being killed makes anything better.
I’m always saying this, but one of the really hard things about being a parent is knowing that there are men out there who want to do this to a child. Like that’s their greatest desire. My daughter is now 11 so it’s still bad, but when she and her brother a little younger I would just start to lose my shit in Target…
Because killing is wrong.
Because I’m against killing anybody, and I’m specifically against allowing the state to kill people.
For me, it’s because no system of conviction is perfect and you can’t undo executing someone, but you can set a prisoner who was wrongly convicted free. Even if a case feels cast iron, you have to allow for the possibility that at some point it might be overturned. Also, it’s not as if life in prison is a bundle of…
The fact that our government has the legal right to kill its citizens has always seemed incredibly fucked up to me, even if said citizens are guilty of terrible crimes. I had the opportunity to tour San Quentin a few years ago, and part of the tour was seeing the chamber where they administer capital punishment at the…
Oh shit I think Killary took Subby5000 out mid-post y’all.
