in terms of competitive gaming, there is a solution; a server pass-through. where the middleman server is purposely restricting all involved to certain bandwidth/speed/rates.

quality? nah. just exist on the same VPN server. speeds required are like 1mBps

you figured out a VPN will mimic the same router too? 

I think if google can perfect compressed streaming packets that get uncompressed by your local hardware it could work. For the meantime, even phones can’t keep up with 4k stream speeds.
