I’ve had a habit of going with the AT&T GoPhone plans to reduce the costs and just buy used phones outright. You don’t get the premier placement for data in “congested” areas but, I have not seen any reduction in service in the 8 years I have used it.

I got a buick regal same way. in 2017 bought a 2016 and it retailed new for 40k but I got it for 20k and it had 3k miles on it.

don’t forget that if the influencer turns out to be shady/dis-favorable the places they praised could also suffer from the backlash.

the issue arises when the cost outweighs the benefits. I could understand a 1-2 night stay at the slow season for an “influencer” but these schmucks demand no less than 5 night stays, all expenses paid, during peak season and knock out a potential room for a paying customer.

I see it just like the magazine/tv models. A very narrow band of people get selected and praised, then encapsulate their environment to cater to those who view them and similar people like them. Eventually the environment spoils without new people coming in because they feel excluded or pushed out.
