I ended up with a little over $1100 after my expenses.
Being a Taxi Cab driver was always a “last resort” job so why on earth would people think that having people use their private vehicle AND paying them less money would be a good idea for anyone other then the passenger?
Because it doesn’t pay as much as those real jobs. That’s what makes a job a “real job” as opposed to a “paying hobby.” You make enough money to survive.
I drove briefly last year — up until somebody ran a red light and totaled my car shortly after I dropped somebody off. If you’re just in it for some side cash and/or want something to do, go for it. Don’t expect to make a living. And the hazards of being on the road that much more (and general increased maintenance…
It’s a bigger picture issue, but I don’t like the “if you don’t like it do something else” argument because there are many, many reasons why that can be difficult. Some are personal, others are institutional. Regardless, why is it okay that we as customers take advantage of these employees because the ‘chose’ the…
I’m guessing in SF the $1000 mortgage is per week. You’d have to have bought an apartment 20 years ago to hope to have a monthly mortgage of $1000.
$1005, I crushed you!!!! HAHAHAHAHA. No seriously fuck uber that’s some bullshit. Pay enough to keep you coming back not enough to live a life, fuck working for a dumpster fire.
I don’t need a game to tell me that driving for Uber isn’t worth my while.

That was Uber depressing.
Uber loses a shitload of money. Over $2.8B last year, and likely a over $2B this year; and that’s not including the fact that uber doesn’t have to pay for cars themselves. Every uber ride taken by a customer is heavily subsidized.
I finished. No days off. 80 hours, $1,214
$870 after expenses in easy mode. According to the site, I’m basically average.
I’m pretty sure if you stuff it with a bunch of rice that it’ll be dry and raring to go in no time.
Oh my gosh .. the immune system is amazingly complex. It involves your blood, your bone marrow, your lympathic system, your intestines, your kidneys, your skin, your liver and pancreas - and I am certain I am missing other vital parts. It is very fascinating and really scary when you take drugs to suppress it every…
Current mileage reimbursement for business is 54 cents a mile.
So salty.
Thats why I end up taking Lyft. I feel bad not tipping these guys sometimes specially when they try to make my ride decent. Lyft at least lets me do it when I’m not carrying cash. Which is most of the time lately.
On Friday, Old Navy tweeted a photo of an interracial grouping of people that sure looks like a family.
