Freemium games certainly can contribute to the problem through loot boxes, which is really just gambling. Maybe the smart choice is to evaluate products and eliminate the gambling aspects, but Prime here seems to be a mouthpiece for the party. 

Kids in the west (and likely China) have those options if they know how to get them. Making the right choice for yourself is also an important skill (like managing your time), so are you saying Chinese kids can’t make good choices for themselves?

Definitely the console ban is a big issue. Freemium games are money pits and generally not very good. So once you make console gaming illegal while PC gaming is beyond the means of many, you’re left with the vast wasteland of freemium games. I’d quit playing if that was all there was.
