This is a good move but it really should be a permanent one. This is a full priced game with a season pass. Applying a free to play model to the game is outrageous. As a former employee who was there for two years and helped launch the PC game, I’m blown away they made it this far. It sucks to see so many colleagues deal with the layoffs and whatnot, but the game was never ‘great’. Even during my time there I was impressed that we even got the production product up and running…

The audience for “Japanese” games in the West outside of big publisher titles isn’t nearly as large as you’d think. There’s confirmation bias because Sony pumps them up so hard, but they don’t sell particularly well according to NPD.
