Kudos on COTD, I knew this was going to ruffle some feathers just off the headline. I don’t plan to let mine go anytime soon, even if it is the lesser powered variant in the lineup. Have owned it for 13 years now, hopefully no end in sight. Thank goodness for an aftermarket that still keeps things lively.

I used to build Peterbilt trucks, specifically I installed fuel and air lines. Using simple cloth over rubber is dumb dumb. We used cloth over steel, over rubber, and protected anything that might rub with canvas or plastic. I you can't get any other line, I'd recommend wrapping your fuel lines with something anywhere…

I currently drive a 2.7t A6 (6-speed, to distract from the pain). One very-sub-zero winter it blew injector seals and ended up costing over $300 to replace $10 in O-rings.

The 4.6 was the wrong answer to every question.
