I married into a family of EEs. They are notoriously cheep.

I know a lot of EEs who are really cheap. And Engineers tend to overanalyze things.
Well, the linked article says he started in 2014 when he was an intern. Interns make very little and some places they actually make nothing (which should be illegal, IMHO, but it happens).
I lost 75 lbs. last year through illness, and I wanted to punch all the people who kept telling me how good I looked.
I’ve gained about half of it back, and yes, I am fat, but I’m so much healthier, thankyouverymuch.
What I think is really interesting about this and other “fast food diet” experiments is that people often don’t gain much weight, or even lose weight despite consuming far more calories than normal and not exercising. Weight gain is clearly not a simple equation of more calories = more weight, and weight loss doesn’t…
The season pass line is separate, you can just flash it and walk in. That combined with not having to pay for parking would be a huge timesaver. There's also food right at the entrance to the park and if you're only there to eat it should only take an hour tops
Honestly though $150 a year with two meals and free parking in addition to theme park admission is a really good deal. Six flags isn’t the best park anymore, but I spend more than $150 on work lunches alone every year
My partner’s best friend lives his life the same way: spending an extra 30-60 minutes to do something cheaply because to him saving money is king. Which I wouldn’t give much of a shit if it weren’t for the fact he’s a well-paid tech worker. His family eats fast food about 5 days a week (“App deals! You’d be stupid not…
The kind of people who eat burgers at A&W are going to get their britches twisted over getting called stupid. Although to be fair, it’s not just slack jawed yokels who are bad at processing everyday common sense. Technology has raised a whole generation of college educated social media gurus unable to read an analog…
The statement still stands.
“Good at math” folk would default to the lower “basic” options because the calorie/cost ratio.
Lol, wut ??? It’s food. People default to what they like. I’m an engineer, soooo... Pretty good at math, and when it comes to fast food burgers I’ve never had anything better than a French McDonalds double cheeseburger. Not…
“...no man ever went broke by under-estimating the intelligence of the American public.”
Yes Americans react completely rationally when they are criticized for poorly thought out beliefs and presented with objective facts. There is no way anyone would interpret this as condescending and dig their heels in, claiming that 1/4 pound is indeed larger than 1/3 pound, no matter what scales or math or “experts”…
Common Core standards were introduced in 2010. That CAN’T be a coincidence.
Ounces (oz) are imperial units, not metric.
The metric system is a tool of the devil.
Americans are gonna love my 15 decagram burger!
“Our 5.3 oz burger is larger than their 4 oz burger.”
If anyone read Farmer Boy by Laura Ingles Wilder they describe a technique of milk feeding a pumpkin. I tried it one year and it certainly worked but not enough to make it worth the effort. Then again there wasn’t any big pumpkin money.
I’m definitely going to start using “There’s no crying in pumpkin growing” from now on when things go amiss in life.
