Look, I’m not arguing with you; I merely played a little Google fu to see what was being reported.

Seems to actually be higher? Unless they’re talking support package as well?
Thanks for this, I’ll look it up!
“In the meantime, no one still seems to know what the F**K our (US) objectives there are.”
I’m willing to be corrected, but I understand that the Turks have the anti-radiation missiles and cruise missiles required to ‘pick a fight’ with an S-400. Plus a whole lot of troops to just move in with.
Well, that and people are willing to loan us money.
cite? Everything I’ve read indicates the complete opposite.
Normally I like your stuff Phil, but when you say ‘And I don’t think anyone, even in the Bush administration, claimed Iraq was to blame for 9-11.’ I’ve got to ask how old you are. I mean, were you around in 2002 / 3? The both made specific allegations and conflated them all the time.
So pithy, yet so good!
Because your prefer style over substance and a weak autocrat who has essentially no allies and we only care about because of his nuclear weapons over the man who has boxed him in and not poured America blood and treasure into another dead end war in the middle east?
No, I know. I’m seeing if Chieftom does.
Totally down with you on the Beauty of the F-14. and I have a weakness for the VF-1.
Its amazing how many people think that the US has sold debt that allows the holder greater ability to ‘just cash it in’ than their bank has over their own mortgage.
How does China ‘call in the debt’?
I’m quite familiar with the Super Tomcat, and the article.
Yeah, I should have been clearer - I was talking about the AIM-54, which is what most people seem to associate with the F-14 (since no-one cares much about the F-111 :).
Why would you build a variable wing fighter today? You think all that extra maintenance and weight is a good investment?
I suspect that you’d find a lot of ‘normal people’ in much of the middle east would hold values that either are or approach being incompatible with your own. The Persians on the other hand are mostly highly educated and actually like the US, despite everything that we’ve done to them.
This so much... The Iranians were clearly terrified in mid-2003 that Tehran (and Damscus) were next and thus we passed up the best opportunity to negotiate and normalize relations. Probably because Munich or something like that.
