Back in my childbearing years (late 70 early 80's), you got nothing. No disability. No paid or unpaid leave. No job waiting for you. Just suck it up. Things have progressed, but not enough. Many, many countries have great paid family leave and vacation. We should too!

It would help, if when an inmate works they could bank some of the money for their release, help keep their families off welfare and pay restitution to their victims. They might have a better chance of turning around their life once released.
