Thank you. I’m a lesbian. I don’t always want to be the voice of my people but if someone comes to me with a genuine question and they are hoping for understanding I am happy to give them my perspective. How the fuck else are we supposed to learn about other people’s lived experiences?

This is a serious issue I see cropping up. You can’t bitch about people not knowing things and also be willing to not tell them when they ask about those things in good faith.

Because apparently white people are not allowed to ask POC questions about racial issues. They are supposed to magically glean a nuanced, deep, and 100% perfect understanding of the issues via Google because having a productive and earnest conversation with a real human is expecting too much.

The reason she contacted her in the first place was because of comments Margaret made about Tilda’s casting. It’s not like she picked a random Asian person out of a hat . Margaret made comments about Tilda being cast in a role. Tilda decided to contact her and talk to her.

How is asking questions equated as have Cho do Swinton’s “intellectual labor”? That assessment seems colossally unfair.

“Its not my job to teach you even if you ask in earnest but fuck you for not knowing?”

Thanks for this. As much as I try to understand other viewpoints, at the end of the day my perspective is going to be different than that of someone from an Asian or minority background. I see your point and how Tilda’s responses may have come across as her brushing off Cho’s concerns.

Being white means nothing in this situation. Here was one human being trying to earnestly relate to another human being of a different culture, and then said other person went on to be a two-faced ass about it for no reason.

How did a copy/pasted email exchange between 2 other people involve any bias on the part of Rich?

I’ll give Colbert a pass here. He was obviously shocked and was trying really hard to still do his job as a comedian even if his heart wasn’t into it. He may not have succeeeded, but he tried.

I guess the great crime here is that Hillary failed to offer up impossible and worthless platitudes to these folks. I don’t look down on working class people, my father certainly falls into that category. However, you’re selling snake oil to these people if you try to convince them that manufacturing is coming back as

“Do you really think that Hillary Clinton is debate-prepping for three or four days. Hillary Clinton is resting, okay?”

I may be out of touch here but I thought bull dyke was one of those phrases that was only a slur when used as a slur?

If there were any emails on Clinton’s server that contained information that could send Clinton to jail, the FBI would have uncovered them in their investigation. For this to be true you either have to believe that a group of Russian hackers is more competent than the FBI or that the Republican head of the FBI

Jill stein is an anti-Vaxxer who takes money from snake oil salesmen who market magic water to desperate people.

That they don’t want to is pretty easy to understand. In much the same way one empathizes about a 5 year old not wanting a bath and an early bed time, and yet one recognizes the inevitability of both, because one is no longer 5.

It is. One monster wants to take away healthcare from millions of people. One monster wants to create unwanted babies but not let people adopt them if they have matching genitals. One monster wants to give nuclear weapons to countries that don’t have them yet. One monster will appoint SCOTUS judges that will restrict

You remember how a particular segment of Obama supporters turned on him like the instant he got into office, and now attack him as being too right wing?

What? No, we care about the issues. For me in particular:

Oh, poor Bernie. He always seemed to care more about the issues than himself, so feeling like he was riding a tiger that is now turning around to bite must be so painful.
