I would be shocked if Biden pardoned Trump. If Biden wins, the more likely scenarios would be either Trump pardoning himself during the lame duck, or resigning and letting Pence pardon him to avoid a legal battle over the pardon.

There is so much wrong with this comment.

Or she’s in the middle of filming in a wig and was on a break

She is acting in a role where she has to wear a wig (see her Instagram post from 10/28/2020).  The wig needs to fit to her head tightly and braiding your hair close to your head is one of the best ways to do that.

That is the silver lining. Someone said last night on kinja that Trump with a blue Senate was better than Biden with a red senate. I disagree. Nothing much will get done, but nothing bad will happen either? At least Barr, and Miller, and DeVos, and everyone else will be gone. But of course, in 4 years Republicans

The NY Times exit poll linked here does appear to have tried to include by mail voters. I mean, look, the exit polls should always be taken with a grain of salt b/c they don't represent what you actually felt or voted, but what you're willing to admit to another person. The actual story here, beyond just looking at

Nothing inherently situates minority voting blocs to vote progressive/liberal. It’s conditional. If the demographic change is accompanied by attendant socioeconomic changes particular to now majority-minority groups, there is absolutely no way to be sure they won’t start voting Republican.

These numbers may be skewed a bit because exit polls won’t capture mail-in votes.

It’s the pull of fascism. It destroyed Germany in the 1930s and 40s and it’s doing the same to the US. If Biden wins, it’ll stop the fascist train - for now. But half the country just overtly declared itself fascist, and those people have been empowered by their orange führer and they’re not just going to go away if

They should all be arrested for interfering with the democratic process. That’s the antithesis of the right to vote. That’s intimidation.

It is worth the fight to get every likely Dem vote counted, as Repugnant Party fuckery can certainly result in some of the tally getting invalidated. Not to try to go Churchill on this, but we’ve must fight this everywhere, and even should we be rolled back we must carry on the struggle until true Americans and

This dude won his primary by a vote of 823 to 809, so don’t ever let anyone tell you voting doesn’t matter. Fifteen sane people staying home that day swung the election.

I mean, at this point, maybe they should stop the count? Three sites have already called Michigan for Biden and Trump’s goon platoon of lawyers already up in court crying like they’re about to catch 15 years for some shit.

I am clinging to that hope, but sexist young asshole white male republicans tend to have the staying power of cockroaches.

I think non-trivial numbers of young people and minorities came out to support Trump. I’m not blaming them, but I think it’s reckless to believe only white/ old white people are voting for Trump. Trump appears to have picked up more Latino and Black men compared to 2016.  Young people and certain non-white groups are

There definitely is some truth to the idea that the Republican party as previously constituted is changing. Ultimately I think what we are seeing as that they are starting to capture a higher share of the culturally/socially conservative portions of minority groups. Early exit polls are only useful for looking at very

I guess I don’t get how that adds up because conservatives vote! don’t mean courting them in the sense of giving them anything though, more just that constantly repeating “You’re voting for Trump? So I guess you’re a Nazi who likes murder and bathes in the blood of marginalized people?” doesn’t seem to be ringing a

Kanye writes himself in:

THIS is the kind of stuff I hope Americans find in themselves no matter who wins the election. Make the government afraid of its citizens; remind them they serve us, not the other way around. They’re not doing us a favor by serving; being an elected official is a cushy gig, stop acting like its hard work. Also term

Possibly controversial, but I’m gonna say it anyway: Beyoncé’s endorsement coming within 24 hours of the election seems meaningless. She’s probably too late to move the needle re people who weren’t already on board with a) her preferred candidate and b) a plan to vote.
