When the 996 and Boxter came out, I thought they were gorgeous cars. But IMO the years have not been kind - they look blobby and hideous to me now.

This is design hubris.

Can we bitch about the stupid as hell steering wheel instead? I mean I thought KITT was badass when I was 5, but when I got to sit inside one of the “hero” cars a few years back I realized how much it would suck to actually drive daily with that style wheel.

The beauty of the stalk is the ease of flicking it in one direction or the other without much thought. Those buttons have to be pushed very deliberately, which I assume would reduce utilization.

This seems like a leaked admission that they're merging with BMW.

That’s nice. Too bad JD Power is a shell of its former self. Case in point: Alaska Airlines won the JD Power Award for Best Airlines 11 years in a row, up until 2020 that is. In 2019 JD Power, under pressure from Southwest, changed the manner it weighs scores and eliminated the Low Cost category in which it and others

Oh no, what are those real actors not people going to do now?

As an employee of Lexus, allow me to retort thus:

Your move, BMW.

To put this into the proper perspective, this man drove from Key West to Jacksonville.

What constitutional right is AWS denying by turning away Parler’s business? If you try to say the First Amendment, I’ll laugh in your face. Last I checked, Amazon is not the goverment.

What you posted has zero bearing with this. They have signed LEGAL documents agreeing to terms and conditions. The company is completely within their legal rights to terminate that agreement. The lawsuit wouldn’t last 5 seconds in court. There is no censorship/freedom of speech being taken away here.

Except that they aren’t banning Parler based on lawsuits. They are banning them because they specifically violated the terms of the hosting service. Which is a PRIVATE company. They don’t want to be associated with Parler because it will hurt their bottom line.

It’s surprising to a lot of people here on Jalopnik, but some people like to get a new car every 3 or 4 years. And they aren’t greedy capitalist pigs for doing so.

haha what ?

If you can’t afford to pay cash, you can’t afford that car.

This is really bad advice.

No, it wasn’t any funnier. It’s always been hit or miss (mostly miss). You just remember the good skits from the past and forget all the crappy filler. Honestly, go watch a few complete episodes from back in the day and see how much is terrible.

People have been saying this exact same thing since 1995. (People were saying similar things earlier, but depending on when you might have to swap “1 year ago,” “5 years ago,” or “10 years ago” in for “20 years ago” out of necessity).

Hmmm. Perhaps I’m too laissez faire, and certainly the actual sensors involved may show a more serious outcome for vehicle occupants, but superficially, those crash tests don’t look nearly as bad as plenty of others I’ve seen. Having lived most of my life driving vehicles *without* side airbags, it’s not as if I
