He said he didn’t touch her and he’s a known liar so his word is worth nothing to me. Even if he didn’t commit the rape, he procured her for the express purpose of being raped by his teammates. He was the ring leader in this and deserves the biggest punishment.
I dont get this “too drunk to rape” logic anyway. If I get wasted, get behind the wheel of a car, and kill someone it doesn’t stop being a crime because I was drunk, it just becomes negligence. I’ve said it before and I’ll repeat it now. Irresponsible drinking does not absolve you of responsibility for your actions.

What really disturbs me is that these white kids even thought to brandish a rope around a black student’s neck as some sick homage to our country’s ugly history of racism and lynching. People try to dismiss this incident for what it really is: a racist act.

Yeah. You need friction to cause rope burn (I’ve suffered enought of it to know). A rope being released from tension might leave a bruise, but that’s it. These people aren’t just racist, greedy assholes trying to protect themselves from a lawsuit, they’re also really incompetent at first aid and rope safety.

That is what doesn’t make sense to me. To get a rope burn, the rope has to have some tautness to it. If the children let go of the rope it would have been slack and thus not able to make a burn like this. I’m calling bullshit on that lawyer’s story. That wound is not a vaseline and Motrin wound.
