Parks had a deleted scene a couple weeks back where Ben (also) calls Leslie "Khaleesi."

Yeah – so long as you can screen out Patricia Heaton's odious political statements, it's just a very entertaining, low-key family sitcom. And it's nowhere near as formulaic or repetitive as MF is at this point.

I hope her pilot gets picked up. She's great, and it'd be nice to see her with steady work.

Isn't Mr. Tina Fey pretty successful?

"Mayor Boomberg" was absolutely hilarious, as was the Prime Suspect joke. Great episode.

I think The Middle is way better than Modern Family, personally.

I'm actually a little curious about Up All Night's fate. I won't be terribly distraught either way, but I liked the show well enough and I'm rooting for the actors. Reports a few days ago said it would likely be renewed, but there's been nothing about it since.

I think so long as they use it to show Andy actually becoming a decent cop / security guard – rather than just a joke-filled arc that ends with him back at the Parks Dept.

I think early on – i.e. very early on – they wanted to have her mother around as a fairly consistent source of antagonism. Really, she and Brandanawicz were the two characters that got neutered by the show's retool in S2. Once they decided Leslie was hyper-competent and overtly sympathetic, it made no sense for her to

You know, I've found that when I catch up on an old episode on Netflix, it usually is something from S2.

There was the time there was a Seinfeld/Murphy Brown crossover.

It's sort of weird how when they first set up the show, they almost made it seem like her mother was going to become a main character.

I already answered below, but how patient are you? If you're willing to give it an hr one day, I'd actually start with S1 – watch the Pilot, watch "The Reporter" (Ep. 3), and watch "Rock Show" (Ep. 6), then watch it straight through. The first couple will be a little slow, but it picks up and you'll get a number of

Why don't you just start with Pawnee Zoo? (Ep. 1, S2)

Shit, people! Comeback Kid!

I think Parks could get away with some high-concept episodes, though probably only if it gets to a S7 or S8 and the only alternative is going through the motions like The Office.

"What is this? Italy?"

Because it's still NBC's highest rated scripted show.

Yeah, there was a Deadline report a couple days ago saying that was the deal (well, parts 1 and 2) – Daniels was told to start hiring writers and if they passed on Friday Night Dinner then they'd all instead go back to The Office.

According to Sepinwall, Daniels isn't heavily involved in Parks despite his executive producer credit – Parks is very much Schur's baby.
