I never saw the image as him dismissing the woman, initially or otherwise.

Indeed. I guess I'm torn because comparing his records is hard enough as it is. For any fan to staunchly stand behind either the loud or quiet ones as being better by either of those qualifications alone makes the task especially futile. You simply need to take in the murder ballads with the love songs to get a whole…
Me too, I guess. God forbid I enjoy the tradition his art is rooted in while enjoying the beginnings of a new one.
It's true. I just wish he'd stop talking about things he doesn't understand, like video games.
Yeah, his shows for the current tour so far have been Push the Sky Away in full, then a second set of "hits," so to speak.
The issue with Nocturama isn't its songs, many of which probably having more in common with cuts from Abbatoir Blues and The Lyre of Orpheus than most fans might want to admit. The issue is that Cave sounds thoroughly toothless on it in places where he shouldn't, which for me is on tracks like Babe I'm On Fire and…
I don't know Jason, I think there's a strong argument for Push the Sky Away being as good, if not better than his best album in the past decade. It's new sonic territory for the band with Cave at his most prophetic, both big statements for a songwriter that's 15 albums deep.
I was able to make out enough of the brass— if anything, the thing that wasn't present in the performance was Dr. John. Considering he won best blues album and was in full regalia, it would have been nice if they went into one of his new songs after "Lonely Boy." I was pretty disappointed to see that wasn't the case.
On top of a badass performance, Jack White also benefited from having particularly striking camerawork capture it— at least during "Freedom at 21."
Papa Won't Leave You, Henry/ I Had A Dream, Joe
California just has all of its sounds— which it has many of— in all the right places. It's as perfect an album of his can get.
Mondo Cane was one of my favorite records of 2010. His delivery is perfect on every song.
Yeah that's sort of weird. I also questioned the price of the vinyl album. The argument that you're paying for all formats in that "bundle" isn't even worth having because if you go vinyl the CD and/or a mp3 download code is packed in automatically.
I don't know. There's a peak?
I don't know, there can be a delusional cred factor to all that, but after more than my fair share of fast food I really can't blame someone for wincing at the suggestion of eating at those places. It's mediocre food that's terrible for you. Even if you crave a chain that sells junkier food, there are usually better…
Like @avclub-ce6b16ea4102dc4408c8dc202e7336c0:disqus said, Friendly's is a crumbling, weary exercise in incompetency. Sad to report that I've been to multiple locations in my day, each and every one having something wrong with it, from the food to the facilities. For a place that ostensibly tries to look like a…
I don't know if a 360 deal and multiple violent outbursts during live performances in a still nascent career easily command respect.
It's as spellbinding as ever.

Spotify's good for music I most likely won't give a shit about. But when it comes to an album I want to sit down with and give my undivided attention to, I'd prefer listening to it in a form that won't sandwich ads between songs.
