Yep. I'm in the millennial category but work with many people my parents age or older and they all get NYT/NPR/etc. notifications on their phones, or via email reminders. The televised news is really just a time-constrained regurgitation of what we've already found out thru web media throughout the day.

It is what it is. Work with it to improve it or keep churning the same tv landfill garbage.

I sincerely second this. I suppose “concentrate the primary” is a better way of saying it. It makes no sense, with the amount of info at our fingertips now, that all this time is needed - and don't get me started on how a handful of states that have minimal impact on the national agenda get to p much set the stage for

Google it.

Eh. I think people often don't see that the fact progressives don't need a channel to tell them what to think (based on advertising $) is actually a good thing. It can be hard to see thru the USA USA USA drumbeat.

It’s been a long discourse about whether TV News should even measure/compete for ratings for just that reason. I think one of the problems when it’s almost been implemented is fear that networks would just kill the news all together to make room for revenue programming. But I also believe (my memory's rusty on it)

See, I thought about that last point, I really did. But then in the UK you had recent upsets like Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn, and in Canada you had Trudeau (he has the family name though so that’s an outlier I’ll accept.) I think a shorter campaign would mean the money could be spent in a more concise manner, and New

She started on the now defunct Air America, and was intro’ed to MSNBC by Olbermann. I could see her having the ambition to combine where she came from with the platform she’s grown to form something of her own. I think her being the first to report one Flint is a huge step in that direction.

I would say, based on the spectrum of progressives I know that this is true. And it’s not untrue of conservatives either, but they always come back to the mothership so to speak eventually - especially when that key message is to Trust No One (But Us.) The imbalance of conservative media vs liberal media has been

Yep. And I would say that this “ain’t nobody got time for that” motive is also why Democrats have low showings at primaries. Are Primaries important to the process? Absolutely but the run up to an election one insanely long slog based on a relic method - ffs who WANTS to spend 4+ hours of their lives caucusing?? Oh

Even those that have an actual tv aren’t bothering with cable when there’s Chomecast/Roku/Etc. or gaming consuls with streaming capabilities. So p much entertainment boxes.

There are days I want Olbermann back. When he was good he was great. But man when he sucked...

Here’s the thing though, the progressive viewers just don’t watch TV the way conservative viewers do. Progressive Viewers, young or older bloc, are mostly getting their news through web clips or articles, facebook or other news aggregators (like Gawker, for example.)

Yea this has nothing to do with being broke. He might have $100M in assets, and the debt’s interest makes it a low-priority to pay out.

Except it would remove them both from the senate where they are desperately needed.

I actually got this response far more from Men in ‘08. Women I knew never questioned why I was for Obama (this is when I was in college in Chicago by the way) but when it came up with guys it would always be some variation of “but shouldn’t you be siding with Hillary? She’s a woman...”

I would sincerely doubt there has been a primary debate in Brooklyn since the days of Alexander Hamilton.

that has nothing to do with his file though. you don’t have to delete the file from the entire database to protect an inmate, ffs.

Duncan is 44 years old. If he were under 25, he too would probably have to wait.
