This film will cover the rest of the book, but Villeneuve has said in interviews that he wants to adapt Dune Messiah to make it a movie trilogy. (Lots of people think Dune works perfectly well as a self-contained story, while others insist that you need Messiah to wrap it up. Or even Children of Dune to get the whole

a Millennial/Gen Z odd couple/buddy comedy flick

I didn’t even know they gave out DUI awards!

I mean like the story of Noah. Incest and animals aside, where did the water from a global flood go? Unless there’s a Flat Earth in there it doesn’t make sense.

The argument that the pronunciation of the letters in the words the acronym is based on determine the pronunciation of the acronym is so dumb that it makes me want to switch to the soft-g pronunciation of GIF just to avoid any possible association with it.

Jews were living in the region side by side with palestinians, muslims, christens and others for thousands of years. The issues only stared when Zionists convinced the British government to forcible displace people to create a state

The argument would be a lot more convincing if the oppression of the Palestinians and the expansion of the settlements had only been happening under Netanyahu’s government.

They finally really did it.

How are “rhymes with lord” and “rhymes with board” different?

If you don’t think the film was trying to create sexual tension between them, you and I watched different movies.

The “gotta trade her in for a fresh love interest for this 60-year-old man” angle seemed so blatant that it was embarrassing to watch. The only thing that doesn’t quite fit the narrative is that Hayley Atwell is actually a year older than Rebecca Ferguson.

I’ve been listening to the Poirot stories as audio books, most of them read by David Suchet or by Hugh Fraser (who played Hastings in the series). And the shocking thing is that in this format, Fraser actually does a better Poirot than Suchet does!

I don’t think the Martin Short article is a hit piece at all, because it makes no objectionable claims about him. Since when is it offensive to say that a certain comedian isn’t funny?

I personally agree that Murder on the Orient Express is overrated. In my opinion it is not one of Christie’s or Poirot’s best mysteries.

he literally did every single Poirot story. It’s a complete set of works.

it seemed odd to limit the list to cinema adaptations when many of the best TV versions were movie-length.

The listicle goes as far as suggesting that the title for best Poirot is a contest between Peter Ustinov and Albert Finney, which reads as if they’ve never even heard of David Suchet.

Personally I found Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? a big disappointment in the end. The first episode was excellent, practically perfect; the second episode was fine but rather unfocused (giving a lot of time to minor plot threads but not enough to Frankie’s stay in the mansion, which is the important bit); and then the

Yeah, the Suchet adaptation of Roger Ackroyd struggled because they couldn’t do the final twist as written. (It ends with a manhunt in a chemical factory, of all things.) The stage adaptation was not a success either.
