The ISS is in low Earth orbit, well within the Earth’s magnetosphere (in fact, it’s within the upper reaches of the atmosphere, the so-called thermosphere), so it’s shielded from a lot of the really nasty cosmic radiation.

I mean, you can like the song or not, but “Everlong” was totally their breakout hit. (Which is not to say that they didn’t benefit from Grohl’s background in Nirvana.)
Taking pets away from their homes to murder and skin them is something pretty terrible to do to a domesticated animal.
It really doesn’t. The review provides concrete examples of how the film is one-sided, and does not advocate anything other than the balance it apparently aimed for.
It seems to me that more than the power imbalance around the sex act itself (and, at least in this case, it doesn’t seem like he pressured her or anything), what Clinton deserves condemnation for is failing to protect his staffer.
I get the irony of a Dahl property doing an anti-Nazi story
I don’t think I heard a single good word about it when it came out, but it was showing on TV around Christmas last year, and I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed it. Johnny Depp’s performance worked for me, and I thought the little Oompa Loompa numbers when each kid was eliminated were hilarious.
I had the same thought, mainly because Whedon so obviously had a thing for Dushku (viz. Dollhouse) and because she seemed to fit the profile of his “temptation” in that creepy letter his wife quoted from. But there are a lot of cast members he could potentially have slept with, and his wife alleged both multiple…
I don’t believe in alien encounters, but neither of those points makes sense.
Strip away the snark, and what remains of this news item? As far as I can tell, “Amazon says that it’s expensive to buy the rights to popular things because other companies also want to buy those rights, and that the series they’re spending lots of money to make will only be a success if lots of people watch it.”
It’s going to be a long time before I can take Pugh seriously after seeing her trying to play a… what, twelve-year-old? in Little Women.
I would imagine that the fact that this is a lawsuit for damages, rather than criminal charges, makes a difference here as well.
There are a ton of interesting factoids around Softporn Adventure, like the fact that it was remade/parodied as the first Leisure Suit Larry game (which itself has been remade twice), or the uproar around the cover art, featuring King’s Quest mastermind Roberta Williams topless in a jacuzzi. (Based on oral histories…
Laser guns powered by diamonds just lying around on the ground, no less! I don’t see how anyone could fail to enjoy this goofy movie.
(Also, “no true Blade Runner fan” will ever watch the version with the narration)
(Spoilers for Tintin)
Agreed. A remake is the same story (more or less); a reboot is the same concept, but with (for the most part) new stories.
many Lovecraft stories are “I heard a story about a man who thought he heard something behind a wall and it was so spooky you guys, anyway he’s insane now and I felt this tale must be told” with precious little actually happening beyond adjectives.
Spice Girls… Garbage, No Doubt, Meridith Brookes, Alanis Morrisette, Sarah McLaughlin, Paula Cole, etc
