The thing, though, is that this show captures certain aspects of comics more faithfully than any other TV adaptation I’ve seen. Specifically vintage Grant Morrison, from Doom Patrol and The Invisibles to his X-Men run. From the profusion of crazy ideas within a minimal overall plot structure to the underutilization of

Mr. Tumnus!

Since you’re so concerned with correct English, I’m sure you’ll appreciate this corrective:

A new Picnic at Hanging Rock seems pretty redundant given that the Weir movie is close to perfect. Though it’s perhaps easy to forget that the picnic mystery is only the opening of the book and film, with the aftermath and subsequent tragedy the real substance of the story.

That’s what TheRocketPilot said.

Highjacking your comment to point out that Indigo Prophecy was not Cage’s first game. There’s one called Omikron: The Nomad Soul, starring David Bowie.

Isn’t that precisely what happened with Prometheus? And we all know how that turned out...

Nonsense. Explicitly it’s not racist at all, and seeing it as an allegory for colonialism is a huge stretch that doesn’t really fit very well and doesn’t get you to anywhere particularly racist in any case.

The fact that Hickey stole another man’s identity is revealed in that earlier episode: we see the real Hickey in the opening flashback.

That’s explicitly not the kind of thing the article is about, though.

Thank you, yes! I’m still enjoying B99, but it’s had a good run and seems about ready to wrap up. The Mick, though, is only getting started, and deserves more time.

Untrue. They sleep together while she believes she’s his wife.

It does not imply they are inferior. It implies they are physically incapacitated, and comes etymologically from Latin and French meaning “not strong”. I don’t see a problem with it, personally, unless it’s a vague sense that any term that is slightly old-fashioned must necessarily be offensive.

Based on the case-specific fact of her being fined $500.

Yeah, would people be quite so ready to make excuses for her if she wasn’t an attractive blonde who seems so damn likable on TV?

Tell me more about these rom-com books.

I think I was at that same show (which yeah, was at the Aragon). Between songs Kim kept making callouts to Chicago bands and artists like Steve Albini, and they ended the show with “Gigantic”, extending it indefinitely while making their goodbyes. I remember it as a great time.

I like how you list The Last Seduction as a rom-com!

Please be a TV adaptation of Cabin Pressure, please be a TV adaptation of Cabin Pressure!

This was my favorite episode so far, and I even enjoyed the edgier versions of Gyro and Quackfaster. As you say, the suggestion that Scrooge is employing this collection of misfits because they’re all on the same mental plane of craziness as him was pretty neat, I thought.
