Penn has a history of abusing women and Charlize Theron grew up in an abusive home. She saw her mom kill her dad in self-defense. I have to think on some level she was doing that thing that a lot of trauma survivors (including myself) do where we subconsciously choose partners that will allow us to relive the trauma

I'd say so - if I "ghost" someone, it's because of their tendency to be abusive and nasty. If I cut you off with no further contact, chances are you KNOW why (or you're an idiot).

It’s self-preservation if nothing else. I wouldn’t want to be the woman who had to break off an engagement to Sean Penn’s face after his track record.

I don't usually delight in the demise of other people's relationships, but I am so happy and relieved that Charlize ditched that piece of shit.

  • “This is not what I thought Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s son would grow up to look like.”

Agreed. While he is a good friend of someone I am close with, I couldn’t read him during the interview. Every time I answered a question he would just say “o-k”, as if he hadn’t just asked for that information. It was quite off-putting.

That sounds better than trapping them in a room and interrogating them to reveal why I wasn’t hired. Something to think about.

I was just rejected for a job - and I learned it was because the guy I would have reported to wanted “someone he could mold”. That is, someone young and less experienced. So, there’s that.

I think these are ok if you have an existing relationship with the interviewer. Otherwise it feels very awkward to the interviewer like having to explain why you are declining a romantic gesture from an unwanted suitor. I’m sure legal would advise just replying that “Another qualified candidate was chosen for the

I’ve always believed that if what you are presently doing isn’t working for you, it might be time to switch it up. You might consider foregoing the shorts. Who knows? This might open up offers of a few positions you didn’t consider previously.

Also, the “stinkeye” is so 80’s. Try double fisting “the bird” while

You mean my current method of handling job rejection - picketing in the waiting room in my shorts and bathrobe while giving all the employed people the stinkeye and gulping from my thermos full of spiked coffee - isn’t a good one?

Make sure to find foods high in iodine then, don’t want a goiter! Seriously though, that salt is legit.

I purposefully avoid kosher(ing) salt because I can’t find one without anticaking agents. Yellow prussiate of something something— no thanks.

That is an excellent point. Sometimes interruptions like that can make you more likable when it's done the way you're describing.

Pro-tip: Actually listen to people.

It’s called an overhead projector and all the teachers used them 30 years ago!

“You get what you pay for.” Americans want everything cheap, and the companies making them want high profit margins; quality is going to suffer in conditions like that.

Actually I don't think it's just Japan that makes nice things... it's more like the US not making nice things :P. For example, I still can't understand why paper products in the US are all so crappy. The more fancy ones are super expensive, and they're really not that fancy at all. Same thing with things like toys,

It’s amazing how many niche high quality items Japan produces. They really are a great country.

I am 5’5.5. Kit’s eyes are flush with mine although he is leaning slightly. I’d say 5’6 and not a half-inch taller. (P.S. He is a genuine and lovely fellow. Also, he smells really good.)
