when tech becomes so advanced as it is today, you can easily forget something as easy as parking brake, if you design a car like that, and dont wanna shift gear for driver, then make sure they understand they are living a car with its engine running and parking brake not applied!

If they design a shifter with spring loaded mechanism (joystick) the y should def make sure it goes to P auto as soon as you open the door when engine is running!
