That’s not nitpicking. It’s correctly calling out incorrect bullshit.

Brought to you by the same people who lost an unloseable election in 2016.
I don’t think I’ve ever been so baffled by anything like the “Biden is most electable” narrative that came out of fucking nowhere and has never once looked like anything other than his sycophants trying to wish it in to existence. Joe Biden is a shit-tier candidate that should be getting blown the fuck out and it…
LOL nobody cares that you’re impatient
You’re joking, right? Is this another article bemoaning the fact that the correct call was made after review? After a goal, play is stopped. The fact that everyone had to wait 33 seconds after the goal to validate or invalidate is not a reason to dislike the system. You need to move on (hopefully to something other…
Sure, VAR is getting the calls right, but look at the “controversy” it’s causing! It’s becoming the story of the weekend!
Oh, so now you hate VAR again... I couldn’t keep track of how many times you’ve flip-flopped on this, depending on the team that benefits - or what type of Emotional Moment you personally receive.
It’s amazing to see someone complain about calls being correct.
Please quit this, you’re not even being a fun contrarian anymore since the entire english football press has turned against VAR after realising talking about possibly incorrect decisions is 80% of their jobs
100% agree.
“VAR stepped in to do what VAR does.”
I gotta say, it sure seems like all of Deadspin’s soccer writers dislike VAR (as a thing AND its application) even though, virtually 100 pct of the time, it proves its worth and gets things RIGHT.
Looks to me like VAR did exactly what it was supposed to on that call. You couldn’t tuck your arms in any further to try to avoid the handball than that defended did. Textbook ball to hand in my opinion, but I can see why the ref originally called a handball in a split second decision.
He was being sarcastic.
I think it’s cute how people who don’t care about a sport decide that everyone wants to hear how edgy they are when they comment about that sport.
Well then - if you hate VAR, then you presumably love the ongoing CONCACAF Gold Cup, which I’m sure you’re watching with great glee as players take elbows to the face and get reprimanded when they raise a fuss. Last night, one of the Jamaican players successfully baited the noted crybaby Jozy Altidore into a yellow…
This makes this article seem rather childish and poorly researched.
Absolutely. But such logic cannot possibly be why these players refused comment to Deadspin. No, of course not :-/
If my employer was being sued and a reporter asked me to comment on the thing the lawsuit was about I’d probably avoid talking about it too.
