Yep. I don't want to nitpick s5 too much, because it was good, beautiful, etc, but I, also, couldn't help feeling there was too much dialogue. Lots of scenes which in the original run might have been done silently, emotions and happenings communicated using a glance, a touch, etc, had dialogue. Show, don't tell!

I think I like the initial Jack run a little more (that said, the first half of season 5 is maybe the best the show has ever been). It's different, obviously - navigating styles, tropes, etc, episode to episode - and it worked a little better for me.

American Dad has developed a really strong comic voice. Its baseline quality necessitates watching.
