MY ALL MORONS!
When I was a nuclear machinist mate in the Navy, we had things called “backpressure regulator valves.” It’s probably more accurate to refer to them as “upstream pressure regulator valves,” but “backpressure” is easier to say. But my point is that the valve is regulating upstream pressure, so it makes sense to say that…
“dynamic forced-induction effect,”
Some people like smaller cars - easier to park, take up less space in the garage, etc. I’ve liked the two BMWs I’ve owned, (‘01 and ‘06 M Roadsters), but both felt heavy as I’d owned an Elise previously, but I assume BMW’s market research was more accurate than your opinion. They seem to be selling the cars their…
i feel you, but “dual zone” usually means driver/passenger side, not front/back.
As for the weight, I believe that M4, with higher MSRP, got a few carbon bits here and there, while the “cheapo” M2 can’t get any, hence the minimal weight difference. I feel that “cheaper and lighter” is a thing of the past. Light…
The C7 is also a rather iffy daily driver.
The 2-series really isn’t that luxurious - it’s nice, but it’s no S-class. It’s less Lexus, more Avalon. And it’s very, very expensive for what you get.
The old Exige started around $50k with your plain-jane Corolla engine.
I am looking at this car and thinking “This has an inferior power-to-weight ratio to the Fiesta ST.”
I’d honestly rather have an older BMW - maybe an e36, or an e30 for that classic style - with an LS V8 swap than most of the newer models. Much lighter, much less complicated, and it would make appropriately angry noises.
Most of us drive horribly boring things and either own - or aspire to own - some sort of batshit crazy weekend car.
Pretty much. It’s an odd choice, too - de-optioning the M2 to hell would have made it less comparable to the M4.
You keep saying “American muscle” like it’s some sort of religious doctrine. Maybe you should worry more about throttle response and understeer and less about how your car presumably defines you as a human being.
2750 for a Fiesta? That’s less than the original Cooper S!
They’re a lot larger, too - my Mazda3 would have been a midsize sedan. Also, I recall someone buying a wretched Mercury hatchback for $18,000 with a 3-speed auto and aircon - compare the performance, economy, and features to a current Mazda2 if you want an apples-to-apples comparison.
