my thoughts exactly.  Hitting people in their wallets is a good way to change behavior (but not foolproof), but then kids like Nick who just want to be left alone to do their thing are forced to appear in court and get torn apart by some dickhead defense lawyer.

It would obviously be better if the district hadn’t behaved so terribly towards him, but I hope the settlement helps. I also hope it helps the district to rethink its policies, because even if it doesn’t care about trans kids, I know it cares about money.
