I’m American and live in the UK. I once got a bad performance review for my supposed “impatience”. The one example of said impatience was that I would sometimes knock on my boss’s (open) office door and say “Hi, I’ve got a quick question, is it okay if I come in?” Apparently I am supposed to just walk in and stand

Correct.

I saw that one of the reported transgressions was “sending email at 3am” or something like that. I mean - does it matter what time an email is sent? Nobody expects a reply at that time of day. AND ANOTHER THING. She was already told that she isn’t an “employee.” The BRF continues to prove that they do not know how to

We seriously need to have some life skills lessons on how to accept being called out on your shitty behavior like a goddamn adult because it’s an epidemic.

I was about to ask if the Firm was going to investigate Prince Andrew and whoever made the comments about Archie's skin color, but I guess no investigation is needed if you know who did it and you're not doing anything about it.

Remember when Effie Brown stood up to Matt Damon? I felt so bad for her because I knew she was holding back so much and she had to have that smile plastered on her face so he didn't get upset.

This is the real issue for the show, I think — her initial statement was, um, problematic, but that conversation did not have to go off the rails the way it did. I don’t think that this would have blown up the way it did if she had just, you know, given it a bit of thought and ANSWERED THE QUESTION THAT WAS ASKED.

When women stand up for themselves it’s labelled “you have a bad attitude”, “why can’t you just get along with everyone”, “we don’t want to upset that person, so whatever they did to you, just take it”.

This. What Sharon means is that she judges them on whether they’re nice - that is, play up to - her.

Sharon gave a master class on white fragility and white female victimhood live and in color and got dragged by black twitter in real time. And had the nerve (the unmitigated gaul) to do it in defense of piers morgan.

Morgan has been publicly bashing Markle for over 5 years. Is that what a nice person does?

“I’m not racist… I don’t care what color or what religion anyone is,” she continued. “Are you a nice person? That’s what I judge you on.”

Because the authorities aren’t going to listen to a bunch of uppity teenage girls over a nice white Christian couple, especially in a state that explicitly protects “faith-based” (Christian) facilities from oversight.

19 times. people had complained about this hell-hole to various authorities 19 times in the past, and they did nothing.

Stuff like this happens because these schools are essentially above the law, by which I mean the law in MO and other states exempts them from any kind of real oversight by the state:

It seems we live in a society where horrible things like this happen all the time, and the authorities are constantly receiving reports about it, but the system only takes action when white people make viral-eligible posts on social media about it.

I feel the same way about police brutality. I’d always heard about it in an abstract way and it happened so long ago.

Social media can be a nightmare for any number of reasons, but I don’t think that the abusers of yesteryear are prepared to withstand the counterattack that is direct testimonials on Twitter, Tiktok, Instagram, etc. Places like this that can get away with casual cruelty for decades are imploding and I’m super into it.

Court records show Boyd Householder, 71, faces 79 felony counts and one misdemeanor, including charges for child molestation, sodomy, sexual contact with a student and neglect of a child. Stephanie Householder, 55, faces 22 felony charges for abuse or neglect of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child. The

Absolutely fucking horrifying. I dearly, dearly hope that part of bringing this whole situation to justice is giving support and mental healthcare to the women who need it after enduring that abuse. Fuck.
