I installed ubuntu on my mom's laptop the other day, and a couple of days later she was updating and asked me what a kernel was.

Ugh, I wish I hadn't seen this. Much worse than breaking my phone is spending the entire ownership experience WORRYING about it and treating it like an egg.

What I want to know is how the App Store is going to handle these updates.
