What you’re describing is called a drag strip. They exist.

Officer was clearly wrong here but overall it highlights a different issue. Too often these days (read: every single time) people either fail to yeild to emergency vehicles or just don’t give a damn. While I’m pulled off to the side, multiple asshats use it as an opportunity to pass everyone pulled over, never mind

The aftermarket radio probably saved the car forty-five pounds, kind of a pity, because radio thieves deserve hernias.

I find the clean, honest lines of ‘80s cars to be refreshing today, in the time of insanity like the new Civic.

They also sang one of the best Star Spangled Banners ever for the World Series or Superbowl or something.

The 2nd generation of that 626 was even prettier, and damn fast for its time:

I knew a girl named Daytona once.

Plus years of used GM reliability to look forward to.

So ugly....all of them....

That “I’M SPECIAL” attitude is without a doubt the worst part about driving on roads with humans.

I saw a “Southern Landscaping” truck roll as much exhaust (wasn’t pure black, but was bad) as he could onto road cyclists last weekend on A1A. I can’t identify the company, but if I could I’d report the driver.

Close. Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Simply put.

This has always been my opinion as well. The way I see it, if GM fell, some company would have taken its place. It creates an opening in the market. Just like a forest fire destroys dead trees to make room for new ones.

Also resale, you can buy and American car for less but when you sell it you will lose even more. A used Honda/ Toyota will lose value too but nowhere near as much nor as fast. In fact the added purchase price will often save you money on resale (used FCA or GM vehicles for instance are dam near scrap value at 10 years
