Do people read speculative articles titled with a question mark that have no new data to offer?

oh, so that's what Bangle is doing now. movie cars.

Though i wasn't a driver, I crewed from some buddies who thrashed FWD cars in rally series. We came to some rapid conclusions:

How many months until we see the GMC Buell show truck?

a Jaguar would do very nicely.

"The 2010 Ranger's Roll Stability Control and combination side air bag technologies will help occupants stay out of harm's way," said Steve Kozak, chief engineer of safety systems, Ford Motor Company.

Don't all "experts" predict that the best stimulus results occur when you underwrite the industry that is paying the expert's consulting fee? That's how it's always worked before.

Why are there so many people eager to shoehorn this engine into chassis that can't handle the weight or the power? Better to build a machine that works for more than car shows and parades.

Most of us DO NOT want it.

Is the luggage to be filled with manufacturer rebate cash upon vehicle purchase?

You're kidding, Bangle's protegé gets the job??? While Bangle was getting all the credit ruining BMW styling, this guy was the silent assassin doing the dirty work. Count me unimpressed.

If Chrysler would link up with Aston Martin instead of Fiat, production of its many crapmobiles is axed, and all its newly acquired taxpayer loot is used to retool its factories for mass production of Vantages at prices competitive to the Z06 or ZR-1, then there's hope.

@ whiners: Shame on you! You know who you are. Let's not degrade this site into a bunch of whining that the new Ferraris doesn't harden your gear shifts like the old 328 (or Jolie or whatever) does. Personal taste doesn't count for much in a car review, nor should it. Almost everyone subjectively writes that

Our biggest gripe with Ford has been transmission failures (the "s" is intentional) at less than 80k miles each. Facing all the many little Ford annoyances is one thing, but a multi-thousand dollar repair bill leaves a bitter taste for a long time. Admittedly, this was a while ago, but we already gave 'em too many

@usa1: before criticizing the Audi grille, you should look at the beautiful grilles on the cars of the 1920s through 1940's. There is nothing wrong with evoking classic grilles of (for example) the Cadillacs, Benzes, and Duesenbergs with a contemporary bodywork befitting a modern car.

Good riddance; Bangle's departure couldn't have come soon enough. History will not remember his creations fondly; auto enthusiasts will remember what a great job the engineering staff did in spite of Bangle's horridly awkward bodywork.
