You didn’t mention this in the story, but when you borrowed the Escalade, did the owner tell you it was a diesel? I can’t imagine even considering the possibility if I wasn’t told explicitly. Also, I know others that have made this error, it can happen pretty easily from simple muscle memory.

Destroying GM vehicles as a Jalopnik writer.

Would I have noticed? I think so, but maybe not for a while.

How do you comment without reading the article”

I think the idea behind this, is if you have a diesel vehicle, you likely know you have a diesel vehicle and know to always put diesel in it. On the other hand, I know a lot of people that drive gasoline cars that may not even know the diesel exists, or why there is a green handle on the station.

This story is somehow even more embarrassing than the old Jalopnik tale of the guy shitting his pants in a brand-new Lexus review car.

Luxury cars often use higher-quality interior materials and have features that aren’t available on lower-priced models — engines, transmissions, sound systems, telematics, safety features — and are packed with more amenities. They also may have more sound insulation, high-quality body parts and aluminum or carbon

no it isnt. tesla doesnt make luxury cars. they make premium cars. its the difference between being mazda and infiniti or being bmw and mercedes. tesla is infiniti level, not bmw level. bmws seats dont get stained fucking blue from your jeans.

lol did you walk to school in the snow, barefoot, through broken glass, uphill both ways too? you also paid like a popsicle stick and a handy for college tuition and housing.

I will say that when they DO finally do a hybrid FX4, this type of soft roader will be very appealing for its mileage and size.

Sorta? You can buy a really nice ARE bed cap with rails for about $3500 and an aluminum RTT for about $3000. What else are you getting with this system for your extra $1200?

By far the most affordable pop top camper available, and on par with the price of a topper + rack + rooftop tent, but much, much stronger and more versatile. I basically run a pickup just so I can have a GFC on it.

I understand how things are more expensive now, but these glorified roof top tents (and the regular roof top tents) are getting absurd. 3 years ago people would laugh you out of the room for a $3500 RTT, now that’s “affordable”. $7700 for an aluminum frame and a tent? It’s not that I don’t doubt that it’s nice, well

Counterpoint - this looks cool as hell.

Buyers: stop being boring and clogging America’s roads with generic crossovers, buy something interesting.

It’s not that weird! It looks very Porsche or even Audi like.

Counterpoint: daring design = good

Ram comment on point. LOL.

I could not think of a single reason why someone would want a Nissan Titan over any other option? What did Nissan do other than an “also ran?” which I guess was their overall strategy. Overall it was fewer options, with less capacity, and lower fuel economy than anything else. Considering how bad Nissan interiors are

It’s a crossover from Lexus/Toyota.  I think the vast majority of buyer don’t care about steering feel.
