CLASSIC O'TOOLE

O'Toole and Harris were great friends and great drinkers and great drinking buddies. They've told a story about how they were performing in a play together in London when they were young, and in between scenes would nip out the back to the pub next door. During one performance, they tipped a few too many, and O'Toole

Anybody else notice the use of soundtrack in this episode? There was a low, steady beat thrumming in just about every shot where there was danger. I didn't notice it at first, but my initial viewing got interrupted so I started over, and then it seemed to jump out.

Been meaning to get back to you on this, and because of your comment and some others, I went through the whole scene in excruciating detail. And I think my original analysis holds.

Plot: I thought the plot was basically about who would be the next Supreme (and I think you're right, it's Stevie Nicks). Everything about the season so far has been about Fiona either trying to figure out a way to get younger to remain Supreme longer; find the right person to replace her if she can't be forever

Here you go, man.

I'm leaning in your direction here. A lot of people also like chili poured into a bag of Fritos, and you can't invalidate their enjoyment, but that doesn't make it fine cuisine. The difference, though, is the chili Fritos don't pretend to be fine cuisine.

This whole episode felt a bit like an homage to Luc Besson's "Leon: The Professional." You had the girl who was in an awful family situation rescued by a highly-trained and self-sufficient but emotionally distant killer, and the girl eventually manages to win over her killer-rescuer's respect by unlocking some

Fence Feeder & Dead Rats:

I know, it's weird. I've studied German and Anglo-Saxon and lived with Dutch-speaking Belgians, and Crane's Middle English sounded like a mix of all those spiced with a little bit of Modern English.

Yeah, Sleepy Hollow may want to find another philologist.

Would that subversion consist of putting the female leads in tight-fitting gowns and stripper heels? Because strong female characters saving weak male characters — even in poorly-conceived and poorly-developed shows — aren't all that new.

Minute 2:56, while he's introducing the fitted sheet hack — why is his shirt wet? It looks like he hacked something all over his right shoulder.

Gotta admit, I grinned a bit when Rachel got thwacked. But then I remembered the nanosaviors and my grin faded.

The trombones concur.

(almost put middle of the first season, but she really isn't shown — Root's a shadowy haxor in the first season, and I don't think we even see her face.)

Maybe it's the magical nanites.

@avclub-f477bbfe084fb144319cecd06bfc77c8:disqus Yep — that's kind of exactly what I was saying in the first place — that it was someone who knew Walter White from beforehand. So your suggestion seems entirely plausible to me.
The reason I threw out Badger and Skinny Pete is I assumed they may have gone to high school

Yeah, that had me grinding teeth a bit… I'm probably not going to watch the film, but I dug up the plot. Somehow I doubt Flynn is going to follow in his father's footsteps at this point, but there may be something else going on: In the film, the Wonder Emporium throws a fit when Mahoney doubts she can take over the
