Are you a Kiwi? That's a keen observation about the archness in her voice. I don't know exactly why it's the case, but Brits, Irish, Aussies, Kiwis, Welsh and Scots (except for Sean Connery) tend to do American accents better than Americans can do other English accents. (I'm probably slighting the South Africans here.)
