All my questions were answered when we got to meet Joanna’s parents and her sisters. From that I understood Joanna as much as someone can be understood from a carefully managed public facing presentation of themselves. (so, broad strokes, but those strokes make her pairing with Chip pretty straightforward).

Leaving all

I agree that they should not do a second season of this show. It was an excellent character piece and we had resolution on the major themes. There is absolutely no reason to revisit Mare of Easttown.

I was okay with Ryan being the murderer although I agree that the neat wrap-up of everyone’s mess felt cheap, like Frank’s relationship being back on track. Or Dylan’s secret being ... no one could know who the real father is so his parents could legally keep the baby ... somehow?

The scene with the mom wasn’t lazy writing, it served at least two obvious purposes, here’s the one you missed. The second obvious purpose was to show how the near-death experience has un-stuck Mare (as it does it many people). She’s trying to grow, trying to do better or at least do different than she would have

lol what weird boomer energy in that comment. At first it made me curious to go list contradictions but thankfully I didn’t do that because I realized the comment is unintentionally a compliment. If there is or was some rule about how one can name a band, nothing is more punk than breaking that rule.

No idea how their

You know, I had no (Absolutely ZERO) idea what this show was about beyond superheroes. But Every image I had seen just hit me wrong. And I don’t just mean, corny vibe wrong (but that too). I mean, it gave me that vibe I get glancing at a Cracker Barrel, or looking at this community magazine I get in my majority white

Perhaps, I see your mistake. Perhaps, you misunderstand what “a lot” means. Either you think it means “all” or you think it means “only”. I can help! It means neither of those things. It doesn’t even mean “most”.
Now, maybe you can help me out: you, in your comment, use the word “a lot” and you even use it correctly

“the way it looks today” ... yes, yes because people of color just learned of New York when Hillary ran for office. Until then, finding a person of color in Manhattan was impossible. Have you seen an episode of Friends? I think maybe one Black person showed up doing a Cochran parody and he probably drove over from

Here is her calculus: con voters will vote for anyone who supports their agenda. Black conservatives have long proven this. Sure, virulent racists would still not vote for a Herman Cain, but many would so long as he was unabashedly shitting on Black people. Same rule here.

My read on Lavinia is that she is a commentary (on what I won’t say because it would derail my comment). Where she and Lord Massen differ is that he, representing the established patriarchy, rightly sees the Touched as a threat. He therefore wishes to destroy them. Lavinia is his opposition in the sense that she sees

Came here for this exact comment. And it’s corny of her to even put this out there for clout.

I’ll give answers a go: I think Maladie has been killing psychotherapists but that that group is by no means the exclusive target of her violence, just her main target. I interpreted her chatter as meaning, she was drawn there for something, wasn’t sure what, and if it wasn’t for someone special then it was going to

To echo others, Whedon seems like a jerk, but I watched the episode and it was fine. Maybe I haven’t watched enough stuff by him to recognize “whedonisms.”

No.

lemme trail my own comment. Here’s how I would do this if I had time. I would identify categories of black movies (civil rights, dance movies, black people we didn’t know about, white story but blackity black). put movies in each and then take the top from each. So I wouldn’t miss movies like Penitentiary nor movies

This list is as trash as the original. You made some improvements after raising some good points but some of your options smell like you were struggling for a way to include people who watch garbahj.

The thing that nags me whenever I am reminded about the Vegara Saga: this guy seems like he neither hides nor has just acquired his worldview. He seems like he was a whole wingnut from way back.
Which makes me then wonder how much of his worldview is actually also Vegara’s worldview and they’re just at loggerheads

I remember that there was a series of articles in light of nutrition research breaking down just how much sugar was in yogurt. That’s when I moved to the greek yogurt, I wasn’t even aware that there was some sort of gendered marketing of it, although I do remember seeing the stuff in the black packaging. But by the

cool is the opposite of what Doja Cat is.

Ok, so in cases like this, it is my hope that his previously published work is automatically pulled for closer review by the various journals. Other legitimate researchers could be relying on what he’s published as a resource and it would seem unethical not to scrutinize those.
