They could see the artifice and although she chose to operate in that world (finding a lifeline in pro bono work), she thought Jimmy wanted that as well.

I admit to never having really understood or cared to understand Hawkman. But I did try a couple times and just failed. I don’t understand even his powers, the wings, what’s up with him and Hawkwoman. Any of it. Are these all previously published canon versions of himself?
