Infinity War was originally supposed to be a two parter, thus it would have been Avengers 3 part 1 and Avengers 3 Part 2 (so essentialy 3 and 4). I guess at some point they decided they could tell the whole infinity war story in one movie, and now Part 4 will be something entirely different.
