I can’t really dispute the usefulness of a gooseneck kettle. I have one and have found it a pleasure to use. But I suppose if someone found it to be expensive or had a limited budget, that would be the piece of equipment that I’d say one can do pour-overs without.

For a cheaper option, I have had the Capresso grinder for just over a year now. Works just fine with reproducibly consistent grinds.
