Pretty much any situation you can think of, where you would call the cops because you feel your life or property is in danger, is a situation worth having your own defense. Another great reason to own a firearm is because you like them and enjoy target shooting.

“That’s because we subsidize the shit out of the south. If they would just pull themselves up by their bootstraps...”

You mean the laws that likely prevented these proven criminals from getting guns legally in the first place? The laws that these criminals avoided and disregarded entirely to STILL get guns? Yea, those laws clearly work.

“If only we better funded education, this comment could have been prevented.”

So, let me get this straight, the Bill of Rights is all about individual freedoms, except the 2nd one, that’s about the state?

The militia clause in the 2nd Amendment does not mean what you seem to think it means. The US Supreme Court ruled that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right in the DC v Heller decision. That was 8 years ago. It’s Ok if you disagree with the 2nd Amendment, but try not to sound completely uninformed while doing so.

It’s pretty impossible to get two thirds of Congress to agree on anything let alone a controversial amendment. Doesn’t matter if you get 9 judges against the 2nd amendment, SCOTUS already officially ruled that it refers to the people not the government and that handguns are exempt from an absolute ban.

You’re missing the point entirely. This isn't other countries. The status quo isn't the same here as it is there. The culture isn't the same as well. I don't know how you're envisioning a confiscation happening, but it would likely be very bloody.

Sounds like a police state to me. This isn't the hunger games you know...

Chill out dude. Seems like everyone gets offended at everything. Grow up and stop with the Ad Hominem attacks too

Except that an actual ban would be unconstitutional. The people freaking out believe the government doesn’t care about the constitution. Plus considering that there are more firearms than people and most of them not registered makes a gun grab quite difficult.

Banning guns won’t work because of that whole Constitution.

They had to break into a business. How does that factor into availability and sale? NoahFect isn’t too far off, because they have to break other laws to break these laws.

Jesus nobody was saying that, just that gun control often serves to make the path to legal gun ownership more difficult for law abiding people. The criminals and people it’s intended to keep unarmed don’t care and find a way around it.

It does hold water because it’s the status quo. People that want guns hard to get are living in la la land. They may want it, but it isn’t going to happen.

Yes, because anybody convicted of any crime should be in prison for their whole lives!

Probably because they have so many that it would be impractical. You would need a huge bank vault type room and you would have to move all the display items out and in daily, which is a fair bit of effort and leads to scratched inventory. It would be easier to make the store more secure. Which it clearly should have

I’m getting too old for this nonsense. None of these brothers must have meaningful jobs or families, or they would have more important things to do. Now the libs who have taken over Houston can drive a new initiative; taking guns off the street buy closing down gun stores. They will all reap what they sow, no worries.

1. Having the checks is ok with me. Assume what you will. But it’s a great illustration for how bad guys don’t care about laws.

I hope they all underwent the background check!
