I want a Lisa Frank journal AND a Kennedy to write about in it. Personally, I just look forward to whatever song she writes about this experience, because it has to have some kind of Arthurian/Camelot theme to it, right? I could get behind that.

Josh Groban is even more your sexual fantasy now that he will be making his own wine.
Hear, hear! There's a subset of feminism that's in such a rush to protect our equality that they forget disparaging that which is traditionally feminine isn't the way. If anything, it's just as sexist, a proclamation that those things we think of as "girly" aren't as good as the things that are "masculine," when, in…
I really hope you find something soon. It's so tough to find any work at all these days. I was three years out of college before I managed to land the one I have now, and I spend every single day terrified I'll lose it, prove my parents right, and not be able to find anything else ever again.
Not to mention that it's hard to write a resume that looks good when you've been job hunting with next to no success for three years. That big empty spot where you've been living with your parents and spiraling into crushing depressive episodes as a result of those financial worries while you hunt desperately for a…
Why in god's name would you want to feel like Ramona? Every time I've caught a bit of RHNY, she's driven me insane with her shrill shrieking and pre-teen antics.
You just gave me serious chills. Thank you for this. I hadn't thought of that and it's something I'm going to remember for my personal toolbox, so to speak. I'm an incredibly anxious person who has trouble speaking up, so my only physical experiences — not sexual, just kissing and the like — have been with guys who…
This guy is about as funny as Mitt Romney at a Mormon comedy fundraiser for dressage horses.
Well, I meant the first because it's not Swift's target audience, so it was kind of that guilty pleasure admission of loving her despite being "too old" for her music, and the second just because over-analyzing things for no good reason is just what we do, so it's possible that my analysis is more to do with me being…
Okay, so this is a little serious for a Dirt Bag, but am I the only one bothered by the delay of Gangster Squad? And not just because I really wanted to see Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling and Anthony Mackie in a gangster flick. I don't know. I get why they're reshooting that scene, but at the same time, it's allegedly a…
For me, that one works both because a) her earlier work wasn't even written by her, so I can't fully blame her for it and because b) when you're 15, everything seems like the end of the world, and losing your virginity to a boy you love who then dumps you has to be devastating, so while it being all you have is…
High five for unabashed love of Taylor Swift! I'm a mid-20s English major with an emphasis in creative writing, I totally analyze the shit out of Taylor Swift's music. Sure, some of it's corny as all hell, but some of it is really, really good and actually well-written, and I love the (I assume) allusions to the music…
She absolutely is, but at the same time, I feel that Alaska absolutely turns that trope on its head. I mean, I think it's just my personal curiosity and not John Green's authorial intent (although he'd probably say fuck authorial intent, we create the story together), but I always felt like it's entirely deliberate…
You used the right one! The way I remember is if it's an action, it's affect. You affect someone, but have an effect on them.
THANK YOU. Not to mention she's stagnated completely since joining Glee. She was reasonably enjoyable during Spring Awakening (if already, as a teenager, too big to ever come to the stage door), but it's like all the Glee press has gone so thoroughly to her head that she's decided not to even bother trying to improve…
And creepy! I have it firsthand from a close source (i.e. my sister told me) that, on set, he just sits around wearing two hoodies and coating his body with lotion over and over, just slathering his legs with lotion from a tin.
Holy shit, my hat off to the both of them. A piece of hope like that is the best way to start a morning.
Right? Dude, if it works for me, it works for me! Migraines are such temperamental things. There are so many ways they come about and they affect different people differently, so whatever makes you feel better, man. I actually had a doctor tell me she does the caffeine-and-a-painkiller method as her first line of…
I get a lot of tension migraines, so for me, the main thing is finding something to relax me. Aside from that, though, avoid the computer screen and loud noises for a few hours. Turn the lights off, or at least down. Drink plenty of water. Sitting up is actually preferable to lying down most of the time.
Is it weird to say I'm jealous you get to take that? Because I am. I was prescribed some for my migraines last year and almost had seratonin syndrome because my doctor didn't seem to be aware they mix poorly with anti-depressants. But it only messed me up the second time I tried it and I remember being amazed by how…
