@underwear-ninja: I spy a Yaris in there. However, I'm not too worried about a label compared to actual mechanical issues - this means that the Yaris, Land Cruiser, 4Runner, and arguably the Venza are safe, though I'd still recall all Venzas for immediate grille replacement with an aftermarket unit (seriously, the

@TokyoBayAquaLine: Well, that's just it. A few of these vehicles don't really have any problems at all - a sticker on the door was incorrect, but that won't affect the vast majority of consumers; even the sticking gas pedals are overblown. Brakes, well, that's worth worrying about, as are corrosion and driveshaft

On today's episode of "Maybe For Three Grand", crack pipe.

@Allegedman: A friend of mine (who drove a series of beater '90-'93 Accords himself) had a longtime ex-girlfriend with a 2000 EX... she's seriously one of the craziest chicks I know. Thanks to her and nearly everyone else on the road with a beige Accord of that generation, those cars will forever have a negative tint

@Shancan: This is my current situation, for the time being, except that my love for penguins is less overt and my car never had a sunroof - but it does have half the dashboard disassembled and a few weird mechanical noises.

@IFTNFS: I'm in Jaffrey (famous for Mount Monadnock and, uh, nothing else), and this truck is in northeast Rindge (famous for, to the nearest approximation, jack shit), along the old rail trail. There aren't many Jalops from around here, at least not that I know of - well, there's one guy from Antrim, as I recall, but

Certainly not the fastest, nor the most exciting (from a technical standpoint), and arguably not the prettiest, either... but it's hard to argue with my first.

Ehh, I've seen worse. Here's one from the southern New Hampshire (about 10 minutes from Winchendon, Massachusetts) woods. This one's definitely a parts truck.

@pbrtim: Nah, definitely not. Well, 'good' is relative, but it's not a powerful, simple, rear-wheel-drive personal luxury coupe/sedan. Sigh.

@texan01 does have a real Chevelle: Yeh, I should've said 'updated drivetrain', and even that's subjective. The W-body Cutlass always reminded me of a scaled-up Saturn SL, or maybe the other way 'round. Nice-looking cars, anyway.

@Top-dead-center: I drive all over uneven New Hampshire dirt roads with my Volvos and get them properly covered in mud. Perhaps I'm not quite in the right demographic, though. I am, however, dead-set on mounting a brush guard to the front of my 745.

@MushyHeirloom: It's just a rental car with a bow tie and new bodywork/drivetrain now.

The Cutlass Supreme? Yeah, that actually still exists.

Leather seats and power locks,

@wagedomain: No worries. I figured that was the case, and that I just needed to clarify.

It looks like a third-generation F-body with this paint job and has the motor Volvo helped develop and then ran screaming away from.
