@87CapriceEstate: I'm surprised that this one wasn't, in hindsight - it was driven by a young guy, I believe. I have the same hatchback reaction (reatchbaction?) with third-generation Accords - there's literally one that I know of, in tan, within at least a 20-mile radius.

@87CapriceEstate: I have, but not for a long time. The Pontiac (J2000/2000 Sunbird/Sunbird, and eventually Sunfire), despite going through more names than serious updates, was seen as more sporty (especially with a turbocharged Brazilian overhead-cam variant of the platform-wide '122' 'junkyard engine') while the

@Tijuana Taxi: Indeed. And if you drive one frame up the road and look over at it, the wheel falls off.

@Murilee Martin: Seriously, I'd love to be passed by a miniature Wienermobile.

Leave it to Scotland to help fix what the rest of Britain keeps getting wrong, I suppose. Glad to see that even though plenty of useful cars are being junked, at least their parts aren't going to waste.

Seriously impressive. I like it in its current unrestored condition, but it'll be a real show-stopper over there once it's cleaned up!

@Baby Beater Benz: Precisely! For those interested in style, I suggest Volvo's answer: aluminium battering rams mounted on sturdy shocks and covered with a durable plastic cover. In the interest of modernity, I suggest that this cover even be painted the body colour - in a low-speed collision, you're still a bit of

@cobrajoe: Shitty of them not to reply and explain if that's actually the case. Maybe it's a glitch... who knows. If not, low blow, Roy.

@trev: Oh, okay. Yeah, those taillights certainly aren't pretty, but I'd tolerate them if I owned a G8.

@ne1butu: I suppose the point isn't that Toyota quality is really that terrible, but rather that it's no longer superior to Ford's, Hyundai's, GM's, and so forth. That's the point I still have to explain to skeptics: yes, Detroit made more mistakes in the past, but Toyota's making many of the same mistakes today.

@elzinco: Strange, given how happy its larger brother is!

@British_Looks_British_Reliabil...: Wait, does anything today actually have bumpers that can withstand a 5-MPH impact?

@KonnietheGoat: 2002, even. Not to mention the Lexus IS (Toyota Altezza) that started the modern trend, or even the fourth-generation Supra.

@cobrajoe: Precisely. I fail to see why this thread tree was demoted - something about pageviews and ovine mentality, presumably, but it was done by an editor so I can't repromote it.

@Tijuana Taxi: StreetView makes it appear even Minier, though.

Eleven prison-rape jokes so far. I'd say something about staying classy, but honestly, rapists are about the only raped inmates that could be argued to 'deserve it', and thus (in my opinion) the only time it's potentially humorous (if rather stale, though some of y'all's puns are clever!).
