@pbrtim: Christ, those little indents are funny. Volvos have 'em as well.

@ravnous: My friend (who used to own one) and I joke that my Volvo 240's overdrive-off switch qualifies as such. In reality, all it does is make cooler noises.

@Addidas: My Volvo 240 has a speedometer-sized clock where normal folks would put a tach, but at least it's an automatic. I'm considering installing a tach anyway, out of curiosity.

@James Marino: They could start by making 'em RWD and removing all the cupholders. I'd be in favour of that.

@81DaytonaPaceCar: Pardon? Power windows? No thanks. And since I'm in New Hampshire, you can keep your fancy air-conditioning too. Heater, though, that's kinda important - though I can do without the blower motor, since I spend most of my time in the car at above 30 MPH.

@hawkeye18: If you really miss that duck, buy a Cadillac.

As many others have said, my personal method of dealing with this sort of thing is to simply park a couple inches from the driver's door. Bonus points for recording the plate number, in case you get keyed, so you know for sure that if you see it again you're getting revenge on the right dude/broad.

@alleggerita: Yeah, but then you're enabling this douchecanoe to take up four spaces for even longer. If it resulted in having the Expedition towed, though, it's be worth it.

@Eriamjh: Very true. It's just more noticeable when the asshat's vehicle is meant to be large and physically imposing.

@mytdawg: No kidding there. Volvo claim that my car can go 5,000 miles between changes, and I have no doubt that it could, for the next decade if not longer. Last time I changed it, a few hundred miles ago, it'd been a bit over 4200 and came out a dark thank-you-for-replacing-me brown. I might be a bit callous about

@Andyf: I can't say I've never had a winter accident, but I've never had one that wouldn't have ended worse had I had an SUV - probably would've rolled something with a higher center of gravity. Of course, ABS might have saved me from needing a tow - but there was no damage, anyway, beyond a broken grille-retention

@87CapriceEstate: Bruins. Yes, the Bruins. Follow them, but do not entirely forgive them for their recent clusterfuck.

I learned that, for half the year, if you own anything besides an SUV in Massachusetts you are an idiot.

@ryalex: I think I may actually be sick. I'm not sure why it's that nasty, to my eyes, or even what it reminds me of, but that's... that's just revolting.

@Murilee Martin: Sounds believable enough. What're they hunting for in scrapyards now? Plenty of stronger rear ends out there for cheap.

@modisch: I've heard of Converse; I'd be more inclined to buy some tools, an engine hoist, and find a way to borrow a lift and get some mounts and such fabricated. They apparently do great work, though.

I actually do like the seats. Not so much the wheels, though, any of those five, and the pedals rather ought to go.
